Re: SLAPSTICON 2010 to unveil lost and unknown Chaplin Film

In the book "Charlie Chaplin: A Centenary Celebration" (1989), there is a 4 page section titled "Charlie The Keystone Kop?" which looks at the possibility of Chaplin having made appearances as one of the Kops. It contains the entire Groucho Marx interview from 1935, and also ment...

Re: Question about Arbuckle features

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to the new Arbuckle set, as well as the silent Rascals collection if it ever comes out. Also looking forward to seeing The Round Up and A Thief Catcher in July. Thanks again. -Brian

Question about Arbuckle features

For some reason I always thought that the only Arbuckle feature that still existed was "Leap Year". Then I saw a brief clip from "Brewster's Millions" on YouTube. Now I see that "The Round-Up" will be shown at Slapsticon in July. So now I am wondering, how many of the A...

Billy Dooley?

Does anyone have any information on Billy Dooley? Other than the fact that he starred in shorts for Christie in the 1920s, and died of a heart attack in the 1930s? Does anyone know which of his films are extant and which are lost? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Some other great ones:
Shemp Howard - Mr. Noisy
Keaton - Pest From the West
Thelma Todd & Patsy Kelly - Air Fright (and what was the one where they are dropping water ballons from a building on people below??)
Laurel & Hardy - Them Thar Hills (Pum Pum!)
Stooges - Dizzy Pilots

Re: Max Linder Filmography

Thanks. As far as I know, all the American films exist, but Be My Wife is only a very short version and The 3 Must-Get-Theres (spoof of 3 Musketeers) is also missing some footage. Of the French films, I know that The Haunted House feature exists, and about 55 - 60 of the shorts.

Max Linder Filmography

I recently got a number of Max Linder films from a guy in Germany. Out of curiosity, I began looking for a Max Linder filmography. I discovered several listings, but there were numerous differences between the various lists. After digging further, I was able to eliminate quite a number of titles as ...

Re: Nobody Likes A Film Wrecker

About 2 years ago I bought a lot of empty 16mm film cans, and found this same flier inside one of them. However, tip number 8 was different: it says "Follow these hints and you will have a happy and grateful audience", with a drawing of people watching a show. It also says it was copyright...
