Re: Movie Morlocks First Slapsticon 2013 report

Mr. Wyatt also brought an unidentified Al St. John short, and he asked the audience to help him identify it. I don't think anyone could place it, but I think Mr. Arkus made the sensible suggestion that the absent Mr. Massa get a crack at it. There's a chance that I could help out, Al is kinda my &q...

Re: Richard M.Roberts Banned from Nitrateville

As much as I am supposed to be "serious" and all now that my Al St. John Project is finally growing into what I wanted, I have never and will never make a secret out the fact that I respect your comments and quite frankly find the honesty as refreshing as I find the knowledge important. Th...

Re: Arbuckle Gags in B Westerns

What do you have info-wise that indicated that AL hated doing B Westerns? I spoke to Buster Crabbe extensively and though Crabbe never thought himself much of making those Westerns for PRC, he had nothing but praise for St. John and said Al loved doing the Western sidekick stuff. Sam Gill told me t...

Re: Arbuckle Gags in B Westerns

Al often pull out his silent day gags in the westerns. In Outlaw Country (1949) he did both headspin and 360 frontflip. He could still do many of those really crazy falls well into his 50s as well as his bicycle stunts/tricks, but that being said, he hated doing all of it. He had not much of a choic...

Re: Unidentified American Comedies from France

They have now posted the result of the ID search on the website: http://www.affcnc.net/internet_cnc/internet/LettreInfo/Lettre23/lettre_23.html You need to scroll down a bit. It is in French, but I used google translate: "Film being identified . Fired Again Fired Again Photo provided by our cor...
