Mary Pickford's Daddy-Long-Legs Part One

The former Occidental College Hall of Letters has an incredible story. Mary filmed orphanage exteriors on all sides of the buildi...

Lloyd Chaplin Pickfair and Keaton - Neighbors All

Not directly film related, but this post shows how Lloyd, Chaplin, Pickford-Fairbanks, and Keaton once all lived very close to each other. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2019/02/c-4686_8-4-view-color.jpg To decipher the image, and see further views, read more here - https://silentlocati...

Re: SOFT SHOES (1925) Harry Carey

This movie shares many historic locations appearing in films with Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Stan Laurel. It really is a time machine. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/03/soft-shoes-sfsff-1.jpg I've written a post all about it https://silentlocations.com/2018/03/23/restoratio...

Richard Dix rooftop stunt matches Laurel & Hardy's "Liberty"

Richard Dix slips from a prison hospital roof in “Day of Reckoning” (1933), filmed at 939 S. Broadway, the same spot Laurel & Hardy used when scrambling around a construction site in “Liberty” (1929). What’s more, Our Gang filmed there first for “The Old Wallop” (1927), and Our Gang star Spanky ...

Pioneer Women Filmmakers at the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley

One big surprise from the beautiful new Kino Lorber Blu-ray release Pioneers: First Women Filmmakers is witnessing the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd alley in Hollywood appear in several films, each made years before the gents all filmed there. https://silentlocations.files.wordpress.com/2018/12/The-Purple-Ma...
