Re: MAID IN MOROCCO (1925) Lupino Lane

I don't know how the stunt was done but it strikes me that this would make a great animated GIF with Lane going round and round, assuming a better quality video could be found.

Re: Well blow me down with an anchovy.

After reading early reports that the animosity between Stan and Babe were underplayed and only marginally figured into the plot, I was surprised that the emotional arc of the whole damn film hinged on their mutual antagonism. I'm not saying to avoid the film, but if you know Laurel & Hardy’s his...

Re: Brother Theodore/Jerry Lewis/Merv Griffin (1966)

I "get" most performers even if I don't find them funny or moving. I never got Brother Theodore. He didn't seem like he was playing a nutty character, like Professor Irwin Corey or Rip Taylor. He seemed to be genuinely paranoid/schizophrenic. And it felt like the height of cruelty to be pa...

Re: Reconstructed version of Chaplin's THE PROFESSOR

The most interesting part is that we always assumed that Prof. Bosco was meant to be a completely different character. Now we know it's an older Charlie beaten down by poverty. Kind of chilling.

Thank you Paul. I know that Herculean work must be going on behind the scenes.
