Re: THE INVADER (1935) Buster Keaton in longer, spanish language version

Forgive me Ed, but I'm afraid I have to disagree with you a little bit, I think this longer Spanish-language version of THE INVADER plays a lot smoother than the American release version, which has always looked a bit choppy to me. The Spanish version also looks a lot brighter and less shabby. I'm s...

Re: Orson Welles at the Cinémathèque Francais in 1983

I wish the French translator would shut-up, it's obvious most of the audience understands English when they laugh right after Welles makes a joke. He even talks over the people asking Welles questions in English so I doubt Orson can hear them asking their questions. It's like pulling teeth waiting f...

Re: William K. Everson Audio Lecture Archive

This treasure trove of Bill Everson's lectures is pure gold - it's much like listening to a Richard Roberts commentary track - wonderful, indeed! Thank you Richard for sharing this, how fortunate we are that these tapes were made, saved, and now available. Ed I take that as a great compliment Ed, b...

THE INVADER (1935) Buster Keaton in longer, spanish language version

Not necessarily a film you'd want to see more footage of, but here's a Spanish-dubbed version of Buster Keaton's British feature THE INVADER (aka AN OLD SPANISH CUSTOM) from 1935: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoUPi8X1Pyg&fbclid=IwAR3FDnV_Cpl-JrLzWD_iHT-Xf2_XxjE2UEWMdUX6Hf7hBrygk8ss9EyFSEo&...

THE DELICATESSEN KID (1929) Benny Rubin

This is a strange Universal Benny Rubin short, released October 14, 1929, directed by Walter Fabian, it does feature Benny and Otto Lederer as Father and Son, but the vaudeville headliners listed in the imd(um)b are portrayed by other actors, that certainly isn't Bill "Bojangles" Robinson ...
