Re: Three Rare Sennett-Paramount Clips

I haven't been here in a while (and haven't logged on it so long, it took me a while to figure out my user name and password). Thanks for posting these, Richard! Yes, I'd say Hide and Seek, Detectives for the final clip (the knocking out of Al McKinnon and the rowboat scene matches up), but I wasn't...

I corrected the main header as well to show GOOFY BIRDS rather than THERE IT IS.

Re: Charley Bowers GOOFY BIRDS production stills

Thanks to Toni and Steve Massa (via my Facebook post) for recognizing that it is GOOFY BIRDS, not THERE IT IS. I thought it was THERE IT IS because of the grandfather clock, but remembered that scene is indoors (even though it has similar outdoors locations, and also Buster Brody in a nutty costume)...

Re: Alice Day Dozen Socks (1927)

Dino, I haven't been on in a while so just read this. I saw a complete 16mm print of A Dozen Socks at Hampton's Silent Movie Theater circa 1976, and I remembered Rob S. mentioning it as it being among those listed acquired by David Packard from the Larry Austin auction. (This in addition to Richard'...

Charley Bowers GOOFY BIRDS production stills

I haven't had been on in eons, but I finally had a chance to scan two Charley Bowers production stills I acquired last year. They weren't marked, but I immediately recognized them as being from THERE IT IS (1928), with Charley Bowers and Buster Brodie at the right with the grandfather clock. To me t...

Re: Triangle Films website

Finally had a chance to look at this clip. The girl appears to be Helen "Ollie" Carlyle. George Ovey was in a few Keystones made around this time (Spring 1915), including THE CANNONBALL and FATTY'S RECKLESS FLING. Looks to be shot at Busch Gardens in Pasadena.

Re: MYSTERY HAM AND BUD STILL

Definitely William Beaudine. By the way, last Saturday David Hayes and I were interviewed (along with Leo Gorcey Jr. and Gabe Dell Jr.) for a Bowery Boys documentary, which was in the old screening room at KCET-TV in Los Angeles, which had been Monogram/Allied Artists. However, going way back, it wa...

Re: Silent Shorts With Holiday themes

Not that it's "ha ha" funny, but the Griffith Biograph comedy THE CHRISTMAS BURGLARS (1908) with Florence Lawrence, Charles Inslee and Mack Sennett.
