Re: "new" EYE Film - NO PARKING 1921

In the Christie/Bobby Vernon short ALL JAZZED UP (1920) the Angel's Flight line is part of the plot. One gets a good look at the Angel's Flight operations.

I remember in the '70's there was a cheesy line of polyester leisure suits called "Angel's Flight."

Re: THE MOVIE HOUND (1927) - Wallace Lupino

The gags in this picture aren't so hot but it was extremely gratifying to see a good bit of Educational Studios. Another gratifying aspect of the film is seeing the guy who plays the dog get some actual time in a comedy. This man was in a lot of Alice Howell and Billy Franey comedies and tons of oth...

Re: Slapsticon Notes: PROFESSOR BEWARE (1938)

Lloyd also sent men to the larger venues to confirm attendance and pick up the Lloyd money in person which rubbed a lot of exhibitors the wrong way. By reading exhibitor comments (which are great to read) one could get the impression that Johnny Hines' success was due to not being Harold Lloyd. Para...

Re: THE ROUND-UP starring Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle

Were the two Keystone half-reelers A BANDIT and PEEPING PETE derived from paper prints? If so, many paper print silent comedies at the LOC will rival film in future restorations.
I was surprised to find out that those two films were filmed in Tijuanna.

Re: BRING HOME THE TURKEY (1927) Our Gang

This seems to be the most brutal of any Hal Roach comedy I've seen. Is Theodore Roberts "Warthead?"

Could this be a double exposure of the same man?

Re: Lige Conley-Jimmie Adams short

This is THE STEEPLECHASER (1922). Its an all star Educational with Cliff Bowes and Spencer Bell also. This is an Italian re-issue that added a soundtrack and they did a pretty good job with it. Lige Conley remade this at Fox in 1927 and named the remake, drum roll......THE STEEPLECHASER.

One thing I noticed: In ALL TEED UP is that Chase's voice dubbed over soda jerk Harry Bowen?
