Bob Dorian

For those of us who remember AMC before it turned to utter crap, it is sad to hear of the passing of Bob Dorian who hosted when it was truly "classic".

Re: THE SEVENTH DAY (1922) Richard Barthelmess

Thanks, After I post it I did go digging and found how to set up the captions, but yes they were only in Spanish. I did take Spanish in high school but 40 years ago it's not really coming to me well enough to really enjoy the movie. Thank you for the one that has the translation in English that when...

Re: THE SEVENTH DAY (1922) Richard Barthelmess

Help! Godfather, can you tell me where to look for the auto Translate? Is it just on this film or does YouTube have that? Quite a few films are in other languages that I don't understand and the only copy is not translated. Comedies are a little easier to to do when you don't have all the title card...

Re: Nitrateville General Jackassery: Happy Anniversary Silent Comedy Mafia

I haven't been visiting any websites as regularly lately. Now that my computer problems are fixed, I can come back . I have had to lurk here for a few years but I am thrilled to be back now and able to comment. I was waiting for something and flipped nitrateville on very briefly and did see the happ...

SF Silent Film Festival

I just saw a banner on "The Silent Era" website that advertised the SFSFF for May 29- June 1.

So, have they decided not to have it in July because it it no fun if they aren't practally on top of Slapsticon, or is it just fun now to chase Cinevent in Ohio?

Re: SENNETT and CHAPLIN MUTUALS available for pre-order!

What perfect timing! No one else gave Chaplin such a wonderful birthday persent (isn't 125 a milestone birthday?). I am so happy to see this finally released...after all your hard work! As to the decision to go Blu-ray, bravo! I have noticed that some films that have required a great deal of restora...

Rob Farr wrote: I think he also banned the mention of Richard, M, and Roberts. Tough luck for anyone wishing to discuss Big Joe Roberts. And don't even start a post about M&M's. Imagine if individuals calling themselves "Lloyd Chaplin" and "Buster Langdon" got banned. You'd ...

Re: Nitrateville Correction Dept: Noah Beery Sr.

So many bonehead film buffs who don’t know better have this idea of “stardom” that only existed in the minds of those who read tinseltown screen mags and think everyone lived in Beverly Hills mansions until their careers “nosedived”, then they became drunken derelicts on skid row. The average lifes...

Re: CineMuseum, Flicker Alley, and Mack Sennett

Paul,
I am glad that you made the right connection.
Flicker Alley seems like good guys as far as getting the classics out there.

I am so happy that you have this on the right track.
Hopefully sales will be great and this will snowball in your direction !
