Re: Rodemich, Sharples & the Chaplin Mutuals -- who did what?

Yes, I know I still need to get back on here and post those cue sheets I said I'd do! But meanwhile, digging through old papers I just found a copy I made many years ago of Gene Rodemich's obit from "Variety" for Tuesday, March 6, 1934. I thought it may be of interest to others reading thi...

Re: Charley Bowers GOOFY BIRDS production stills

Brent: Those Bowers stills are so fascinating I had to share the link with my good friends (and Bowers fans) Nick and Toni. Here's a message Toni asked me to post: "From Toni Carey: Dear Brent: Those stills are amazing! As a huge Bowers fan myself, I really appreciate your generosity in posting...

Re: Will Rogers in State Fair on TCM

According to the 1930's AFI Catalogue STATE FAIR was edited for its 1935 reissue. Apparently the edited print is all there is. But here's hoping that TCM will surprise us with an uncut print. The cut scene (or at least one of them) is described here: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/91336/State-Fair/n...

Re: RKO Two-Reelers

I don't enjoy Clark & McCullough's films for C & McC themselves, but I would never turn down an opportunity to catch the ones I've missed. It surprised me when I read that Paul McCullough was originally the "star comic" of the team and Bobby Clark only assumed the top spot when au...

Re: RKO Two-Reelers

TCM is finishing up New Year's Day showing "Gasoloons." That's this Sunday at 11:43pm ET. I'm hoping this is the start of their showing the RKO two reelers and wonder if this might answer some questions re:who holds the rights now. Hi Robert! Unfortunately it's doubtful that the Jan. 1st ...

Another Keaton talkie MGM not on DVD

That leaves PASSIONATE PLUMBER as the only MGM feature not released on DVD.

I'm still waiting for ESTRELLADOS to turn up on TCM, video, or DVD.
