Who or what was an I B C studios?

I don't *think* I've asked this question before on this forum: In October 1934, Helen Morgan filmed her numbers for SWEET MUSIC at something called I B C Studios. Billy House shorts

Here's a little something from FILM DAILY I never heard before:

Apparently, in 1930, Billy House made a/several shorts at Astoria.

I'm specifically interested in one that featured Shubert showgirl Helen Tucker and Hammerstein girl Gloria LaBow.

Can anyone identify who "Stanley Sharpe" is in this clip (starts at the 1 minute mark)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek94ixbbpS0

That's not *actually* Ziegfeld's henchman Stanley Sharpe, is it?

Re: Chaplin Centenary......Whup-de-dup

Exactly. Chaplin was the gateway drug for many of us, because (depending on the TV market in which we grew up) Chaplin silent shorts were run on TV with some regularity. So (for me) my introduction to silent shorts came through Chaplin. Ditto Our Gang and 3 Stooges for sound shorts. And METROPOLIS f...

Re: Nitratevile Silliness: Silent Film Tragedies

It was me. I dared to question Harris' identity and Danny locked the thread. At least the silliness won't continue there. Sorry, but anyone with a professorship who finds him/herself questioned will do two things: 1) when giving contact information about the institution where s/he works, s/he will p...
