Re: Comedian Mickey Deems (Mack & Myer for Hire) Dead at 88

Well remembering these is admitting our ages. Seems like yesterday my sister and I were eating eggs on toast for breakfast while watching Mack And Myer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDizX8UHMLo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPbswZ9WkLg Pasquale Hmmm, seems like only yesterday we were watching th...

Re: The Buster Keaton Show (1949)

That's the same scenario of why we have as many radio show's survive to this day, as we do. A program would be transcribed, usually for the ad agency, and then stored away and forgotten until some former employee goes home with it and 30 years later it is found in the garage. Bing Crosby's KRAFT MU...

Re: The Buster Keaton Show (1949)

That's where I first saw it. On VHS. Since I came up in the era when we were being told that the majority of silent films were lost forever.....only to find continual constant discoveries the past 30 years or so, I find I am now almost as interested in how something once thought lost is now found, ...

No idea, turned up and started circulating a few years ago (I think it was first seen on an old Video Yesteryear VHS release)

Re: John Cocchi, reported missing, has been found dead

Was this someone who you traded with often, Richard? John was a long-time collector of stills and film, author of a good book, SECOND FEATURE:THE BEST OF THE B'S, among others, and his still collections had adorned and illustrated many, many books. I knew him reasonably well, had bought and traded ...

Re: Suddenly it's.... Bynunsky Hyman!

There's not a lot known about Bynunsky, but I always figured that he had a circus or carnival background as I've seen him play fire eaters and clowns in several films.

Cinevent Past Notes: THE EXTRA GIRL

By 1922, Mabel Normand’s life and career were starting to unravel. After years of being a comedy star both for Mack Sennett and Samuel Goldwyn, scandal had rocked her life, beginning with her involvement, however innocently, in the murder of Director William Desmond Taylor. Her features for Samuel G...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u9izuZfjBg For those that love him as much as I do! DG A lovely tribute to Comedy's favorite short bald guy (or was he Comedy's second favorite short bald guy? I always thought Benny Hill was channelling Hyman when he used the perennial Jackie Wright, the famous Iri...
