Re: A New John Wayne/Lloyd Hamilton spotting
I concur wholeheartedly. Another brilliant discovery, Richard! Congrats! The Authenticity of Buster Keaton
Chris Seguin, Associate Producer of CineMuseum's upcoming BLUE COLLAR BUSTER Blu-ray & DVD release, has penned another a great article about famed producer, director, and animator Gerald Potterton, Keaton's 1965 short subject THE RAILRODDER -- and our lad Buster's unmatched authenticity. Check i...

WHEN COMEDY WAS KING - DAVID WYATT REVIEW
I received my quarterly issue of THE LAUREL AND HARDY MAGAZINE, published by Rob Lewis and the Helpmates UK Tent of the International Sons of the Desert, and discovered David Wyatt's excellent review of Sprocket Vault's WHEN COMEDY WAS KING release! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4324/35990218915_f1...

Re: Keaton Society - 2017 Porkpie Scholar Grant
That is an interesting question, Richard. I suspect that our membership skews much older. However, there are no age restrictions for this grant -- it is based solely on the merit of the project. Anyone working on a Keaton related project, of nearly any sort, may apply.

Re: Frame Grabs from Lost Films
But there are not. According to Jack Theakston:
"The images posted by Filmoteca Canaria are from single frames, an album of which was donated to the archive in 1995."
Single frames, no nothing more. Tantalizing, tho.

Re: Frame Grabs from Lost Films
Fascinating, Rob. The frame is NOT from the known surviving footage of THE ROGUE SONG. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/722/32866089566_cbe3aeec89_b.jpg At present there are only two surviving Laurel and Hardy sequences: The storm / cave scene, which was located in 1981, and a gag wherein Stan has swal...

Re: Nitrateville Nitwittery: WHEN COMEDY WAS KING
I personally think that Kit and Richard were absolutely correct in their choice to release WHEN COMEDY WAS KING as a DVD only. Publishing niche market titles in the BD format is a risky proposition under the best of circumstances -- and WCWK is probably a micro niche release at this point. The numbe...
