early Marcel Levesque comedy

LE GENDARME EST SANS CULOTTE (The Policeman has no Pants) Gaumont 1914 directed by Louis Feullade. Feuillado-philes may spot others of his stock company; since it's about a movie troupe borrowing a gendarme's trousers, there's a pretty good chance that some of Feuillade's regulars are there. Marcel ...

Mr. Harold Lloyd visits Doorn House 1932

Quick film journal footage of Harold and Mildred visiting "Doorn House on the occasion of 'Herminen-Hilfswerk' bazaar". Nothing amazing, but I'd not seen it before. http://europeanfilmgateway.eu/node/33/detail/Mr+Harold+Lloyd+besucht+Haus+Doorn/video:NGIyYWY5MWYtZGViNC00NmUzLTgwYmYtM2YxMTU...

early Arthur Housman

AT BEAR TRACK GULCH (Edison 1913). Housman is a background player here, as well as Robert Brower, but he is in quite a few of the scenes. A mining community gets a new schoolteacher, similar to a Broncho Billy plot; the students of course are adults.

3 comedies on NFPF

NFPF has recently posted a few more comedies: OH! WHAT A DAY 1923 Andy Gump http://www.filmpreservation.org/preserved-films/screening-room/oh-what-a-day In addition to those credited I believe there is also Tiny Sandford and possibly Ernie Adams (on coach/chair in lobby near stairs) SNOOKY'S TWIN TR...

Re: Snub Pollard - unidentified 9.5 clip

I think it also looks like Mildred Davis, when she turns her face. I noticed Noah Young. Was Sammy Brooks the small cop?

Re: What Happened to Kalton C. Lahue

Lahue's books couldn't have been the first movie books I read, but they're the ones I remember most. Silent comedians and cowboys quickly became my favorites. I re-read those books over and over (nobody else checked them out of the library) and bought them whenever I could find them (I found World o...

untitled "exciting British 1910's melodrama"

Another gem from the Huntley Archives. I believe this might be LIEUTENANT ROSE AND THE ROYAL VISIT (Clarendon 1911 directed by Percy Stow). Nice underwater diving scene.
