Re: C.L. Chester's ROARS AND UPROARS
Shields and Cooper - I knew they looked familiar! I'm going to have to get myself better acquainted with these comedians - looks like I'll contact Bill Sprague in the morning. And looking at IMDb I see that Bobby Ray was formerly Bobby Fuehrer, Universal Ike Jr. - ya learn something new every day. T...

C.L. Chester's ROARS AND UPROARS
Can anyone shed any light on this film? It appears on the DVD "Old Time Comedy Classics 3," and once you mute the annoying music track the comedy itself is quite good, slickly done, with some comparitively elaborate sets and some great gags. The opening credits - which look to be originals...

Re: Behind the scenes still at the Hal Roach Studio
Lehrman didn't last a week and he was back at Warner Brothers. Richard, is this something you could elaborate on? I've only found one other article so far in Moving Picture World that covers much of the same stuff that Brent's LA Times article covered, but haven't found any evidence to date that Le...

Re: Behind the scenes still at the Hal Roach Studio
The fellow second from the left with the pipe looks a little like William Beaudine, who did a couple of films for Roach in the early '20s.

Ah, sorry - an oversight on my part. The article was in the Los Angeles Times, December 12, 1954, p. K20-22.

Re: Who Went to the Broncho Billy?
Hmmm...The synopsis for GOOD NIGHT, NURSE! sounds suspiciously like Sidney Drew's WANTED, A NURSE from the previous year. But then I guess that was standard operating procedure back then.
