Unidentified American Comedies from France
Missed the Mostly Lost Identification Workshop in Culpeper VA? Here are a few unidentified comedies (and some dramas) from the French Cinemateque They've ID'ed some of the main actors (St. John, Ovey). Any titles? http://www.cnc-aff.fr/internet_cnc/Inte ... connu.aspx

Re: How to ACTUALLY Find John Wayne in an Educational Comedy
This is a great find. It's worth re-watching surviving Educational comedies from '27-'28 with half an eye open for the Duke. Even if you don't spot him, it's time well-spent.

Re: SLAPSTICON Returns in 2013!
The first Slapsticon was in '03 so next year's fest will be an anniversary of sorts, even tho it hasn't always been an annual event. What the heck? We'll have an extra drink to toast Slapsticon at 10 anyway.

What's the plot of the Duffy movie? Any other recognizable cast members? There are more than a few folks on this board that could ID it for you.

Raised Eyebrows Author and Dick Cavett Interviewed
Thanks to Paul for sharing the NYT article about Dick Cavett's memories of Groucho's last years. Here are two podcasts that cover the same territory. Re: Maurice Zouary (1921 - 2010)
Most of Zouary's prints can be seen in LC's online catalog. The ones I've seen are 16mm Atlas TV prints in very rough shape. In addition, many of the two-reelers have been cut to 13 minutes to allow two shorts to be shown in a 30-minute time slot allowing for commecials. This was the case with the t...

Re: Will Rogers in State Fair on TCM
Jim, way back in the late 1970s or early 80s I drove through Claremont and was astonished to discover their 16mm film collection consisting of Rogers films that were totally out of reach for even the most avid buffs. They generally screened two films a day in rotation. I planned to return to Claremo...
