That's Sid Smith allright, and Bill Blaisdell playing the Cop, it's early 20's Monty Banks too before he got a little stockier, will look into this, as I 'm sure Steve will too.

Re: MACK SENNETT COLLECTION VOL 1 Blu-Ray

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this -- but only two years ago I sold a 16mm print of BERTH MARKS on eBay for $656. It was a common Blackhawk sound print with their remade titles. No MGM credits, not the Governor TV print, not the now-scarce silent version -- it was nothing special. You could tell ...

Re: MACK SENNETT COLLECTION VOL 1 Blu-Ray

Richard M Roberts I have a spare print of BLACK OXFORDS I might let you have for $300. Unless you're joking, is that the average price for a 16mm silent comedy two-reeler print? Pasquale I'm joking, but in the case of a reasonably rare print, and two nutjobs on ebay determined to get it, you used t...

Up to seven five-star reviews so far, and number seven is from our own Ed Watz!

Thank You Ed, and say, I have a spare print of BLACK OXFORDS I might let you have for $300.

Ted Wells Silent Western Excerpt

Here's about a reel from BORN TO THE SADDLE (1929), a Universal Silent Western starring Ted Wells, Duane Thompson, and featuring Leo White in a supporting role: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_ZlSU7XEh4 Not too many Ted Wells Westerns exist in any form, certainly not the late silent Universals he ...

Re: Billy West King Bee / Billy Whiskers

The only King Bee I recall with a monkey in it is THE BAND MASTER (1917), is it a smaller,organ-grinders type monkey or a chimp? It's literally an organ-grinders monkey in THE BAND MASTER whom Billy brings to a swank party to prove the Organ Grinder is crashing the party. There were scenes in the ki...

Re: Billy West King Bee / Billy Whiskers

OK I'll try another one...A Billy West / Chaplin King Bee with a kitchen scene featuring Billy and a monkey watching him? I'm going to put a youtube clip of that Monty Banks/Sid Smith clip tomorrow to help someone identify that one...Been finding all of these crazy 100 footers I forgot I had...Also...

Re: Richard M.Roberts Banned from Nitrateville

Well, what has it been, over two months since we have added to this thread? Well, we have had much better things to do and it has become so dull and predictable over there at Nitratevile, same nameless or named nincompoops whining about frames missing from THE IMMIGRANT, someone whining about the wi...

Re: REVIEW: CHAPLIN MUTUALS & MACK SENNETT V1

just as The Right Stuff (1983) is essentially a brilliant reworking of another Ford-Wayne film, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). I'm happy that the Sennett set is receiving rave reviews across the Web, but I couldn't help fixate on this reviewers statement and the correlation he sees betwee...
