Just ordered it and while I don't have much optimism that Traffic will be a lost comedy classic, I am looking forward to seeing the doc. Tati often plays better in excerpts without the ponderous stretches between inspired comedy bits.

The key is Blanche Cornwall, whose starring career lasted from 1912-1913. Figuring that Ford Sterling and Mabel Normand didn't really become name stars until they were with Keystone for a spell, 1913 is the best guess from this corner.

I saw it on broadcast television long ago (perhaps in the pre-VCR era). I think it disappeared because TV and home video companies didn't see the value in paying a licensing fee for MW after TSOHD went PD and could be had for free.
