Re: Lost Lloyd Shorts

I am absolutely certain that the following Lloyd one-reelers are extant:

Before Breakfast
Hear ‘Em Rave
Just Dropped In
Let’s Go
Nothing But Trouble
Swat The Crook

And Hear 'Em Rave is fairly common.

Re: Keaton's "ZEPPED"

Wow!

$10,000 for a five minute fragment of a six-reel film I only have five complete DVD prints of already.

It's so... very... hard... to... resist...

Re: "Easy Does It"

Well, I'm not sure that is correct. As I recall, it's a later vintage comedy than the Moranti Reelcrafts, which ended in 1921-22, and Moranti did so many other independent series. But then again, i'm going on twenty-plus year old memories of the last time I bothered to look at the film. The actual ...

Re: "Easy Does It"

This is a Milburne Moranti short, and I'm pretty sure Al Christie didn't have a thing to do with it. Moranti made a lot of low-budget independent comedies that came out through Reelcraft and Special Pictures, so I think this is one of those. Don't recognize any of the other players. I've wondered w...

"Easy Does It"

Back in 2005, Katrina smashed the only entrance to my family's storage trailer, which unfortunately held most of my rarer stacks of silent comedy goodies on VHS. That, combined with the fact that I'm almost certainly the poorest member of the silent comedy mafia, reduced me to Blanche DuBois status....

Re: Kino's OUR HOSPITALITY blu-ray is in my hands

Well... ACTUALLY Richard... I think that you guys were looking at the WRONG Indian. He's NOT the one leading the attack. The Indian we're looking at is the one doing Buster pratfalls, has Buster's face looking straight into the camera, and happens to be missing the first digit on the index finger o...

Re: Kino's OUR HOSPITALITY blu-ray is in my hands

So... Do you believe the Indian is Buster? Not only is Buster CLEARLY the Indian, he also appears to done some stunt work (in drag no less), as well as a possible third role where somebody does a very familar looking pratfall. DBP Actually, after we watched the MOMA version of THE IRON MULE on the ...
