Re: RKO Two-Reelers

I do own both Bert Wheeler Columbia shorts. 1. INNOCENTLY GUILTY is frantic and 2. THE AWFUL SLEUTH * is better paced. One was acquired from England and 2 Canada. *Note: JUNGLE MONARCHS 1953 w/Morey Amsterdam narration was also included. THE CHAMPS STEP OUT 1951; HIS BAITING BEAUTY 1950 (Emil Sitka'...

Re: Some Paramount Sound Comedies

I checked my 1936 MEET THE MISSUS titled print and the opening shot is the one pictured of Gleason trying to pick up a chorus girl.

Re: So........would anybody be interested.....

Anything written on El would be of interest.

His WB 1930's shorts are very good with THE LONESOME TRAILER standing out. Two were elaborate productions shot in the new 3 strip Technicolor process in 1934-5.

He was popular enough from his Fox films to warrant the extra expense.

Re: RKO Two-Reelers

I enjoyed Ed Watz's WHEELER & WOOLSEY book EXCEPT for the Clark & McCullough negative comment. In my opinion, Clark is a high energy Woolsey. As for McCullough's support, it compliments Clark. They don't annoy me like the Ben Blue/Billy Gilbert Taxi Boys series. WHAT PRICE TAXI and THUNDERIN...

Re: RKO Two-Reelers

As a collector of comedy shorts, I have some RKO/Pathes from the 1929-1936 period. With Harry Sweet in charge, there was always something of interest being released. The Masquers Club, Louis John Bartels, Chick Chandler, Blondes & Redheads, Benny Rubin, Tom Kennedy, Edgar Kennedy, and Clark &...

Little Cripple - 1909 or 1911 Pathe

I realize comedy is the norm on this site, but decided to ask about my recent 16mm acquisition "Little Cripple"?
This 1 reel Pathe drama was either 1909 or 1911.
Plot is about a deformed boy who saves his normal friend from kidnappers.
Anyone have any other info on this title?

Lloyd Hamilton Wedding Belles 1931?

I just acquired a print of Lloyd Hamilton's Wedding Belles. Head/tail credits and set up is missing. Footage is 600 feet approx. with some splices due to editing. Cast includes: Gertrude Astor, Arthur Housman, and Eddie Gribbon. Plot: Ham is on an Ocean liner trying to get his girl. I thought this s...
