DAVID HARUM (1915)

Postby David Denton » Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:29 pm

Most are more familiar with the Will Rogers' sound version, but here is an earlier incarnation starring William H. Crane, who played it on the stage. Some of the supporting cast also played in several runs of the play. Crane is better known to us from Keaton's SAPHEAD, but he is quite at home here. DAVID HARUM is also the first pairing of Harold Lockwood and May Allison, who were teamed in several films before Lockwood's early death in 1918. Near the beginning of the film, you can spot an uncredited Jack Pickford, tending Harum's horses. Allan Dwan directed, and Pickford was support in a few of Dwan's other films around this time
