Edwin S. Porter direct a cast of children in a new version of THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY, released by Edison September 1905:

Can this take credit for being the first kid comedy, even if it is a remake of the more famous film? I like the ending where the kids are viciously gunned down in the woods by the sheriff's posse (I'm kidding, they're actually just dragged away in chains for years of hard labor).
