Got the set in today and immediately watched the episode with Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr., and Vampira and it was delightful! No one needed to be embarrassed about anything, Lugosi and Chaney look like they're having a grand old time and they work well with Skelton. It's a standard haunted house/mad scientist sketch, but there are some clever gags (I like the fact that Chaney's wolfman runs and barks at the door when the doorbell rings). Lugosi is having fun being silly, he even sings and dances a little, and yes, he does in fact get a very good and deliberate laugh when he goes up on his line (and he's not the only one, Chaney actually has to feed a line to Skelton at one point and also gets a laugh). This is a fun new Lugosi appearance and considering it's from late 1954, when I'm sure he was not feeling particularly well, he does a fine job indeed.

Now onto the other shows I haven't seen.

Thanks for sharing, Richard!
Speaking of sharing, Shout! has put this nice excerpt on youtube to promote the set:

And, couple nice stills from it on this Lugosi blog with a nice filmography of his small screen work:

Well, it's obvious the blogger hasn't seen the Skelton show, and it's another of those depressives who want to dwell on nothing but but potential negatives, the "even though such and such was brilliant that night, they would soon be caught in a cesspool of drunkeness and despair." blah.blah.blah.blah. sort of nonsense.

Seeing the Skelton Show finally did ID those stills of Lugosi with Vampira on the Laboratory set.
