Here's an interesting bit of early television drama and a version of the Edgar Allen Poe story even lower budgeted than the 1960 AIP Vincent Price version. NBC Matinee Theater was an attempt by the network to deliver quality daytime programming, it was broadcast in early color and presented filmed drama with reasonably well-known names. USHER was broadcast August 6, 1956 and these shows were later syndicated as Cameo Theater.

It's directed by veteran TV director Boris Sagal, and features Tom Tryon, Marshall Thompson, Joan Elan, Helen Wallace, and Eduardo Ciannelli:
