Snub Pollard - Blue Sunday

Postby DaveGlass » Wed Mar 05, 2014 4:37 am

Pretty sure this clip is from 'Blue Sunday' directed by Charley Chase.
Got some rare unidentified Snub's coming soon...

It's BLUE SUNDAY (1921) allright, and the music is "Keystone Kapers" by Spike Jones, which hearing always takes me back to fond memories of the Disneyland Old Movie Theater on Main Street, where it played endlessly to never-ending loops of a half-dozen silent movies.

At what point did Disneyland drop the silent clips and go with the endless loop of STEAMBOAT WILLIE?
That's what I remember.

The silent movies were playing well throughout the 80's.

Isn't it interesting this Snub Pollard comedy, BLUE SUNDAY,would today be rated R for the smoking alone.

Re. Laff-a-Bits
Here's "the source of the Nile"...

They only list 40 titles on here but they say "more is available".
I have about 70 of 'em - mainly from tapes that were issued in the UK back in the 80s.
You can pick 'em up sometimes on 16mm too....

I have only three of those VHS tapes. Seems quite a few volumes were released by different video companies in the UK.
