The Girl Stage Driver 1914

This early western, THE GIRL STAGE DRIVER, is on the NFPF site

I posted it here for a few reasons. For SCM's Arizonian members, you know who you are, this was filmed in Tucson by Eclair, directed by Webster Cullison. It features Edna Payne, Norbert A. Myles and H. Stanley as 'the El Paso Kid'. Eclair also filmed the first 'Cisco Kid' film THE CABALLERO'S WAY (also 1914). Starring as the first 'Cisco Kid' was the same actor, H. Stanley (MPW Oct-Dec 1914, pg. 205)

Other reviews credit William Dunn or Arthur Dunn, but the actor and costume look the same as a photo in 'The Films of Cisco Kid' (Francis M. Nevins 1998). H. Stanley is also known as Herbert Stanley Dunn, Herbert Stanley and Stanley Dunn. Most of his career, which seems to have ended before 1920, was spent at Vitagraph. I got very curious about Mr. Dunn, emailed Brent Walker and Steve Massa. Brent did some great research and Stanley Dunn is the brother of William Dunn and Eddie Dunn. I believe two of William Dunn's credits at Eclair for 1914 are really Stan's (as H. Stanley). One of his films as Herbert Stanley is ETHEL'S ROMEOS (Gaumont/Casino Star 1915) with Oliver Hardy. Rob Stone's LAUREL OR HARDY book has a photo from the film on page 101, Stanley is on the far right.
