Here's a rare chunk of one of Marie Dressler's self-produced Goldwyn comedies. shot in Fort Lee, New Jersey, released by Goldwyn Pictures Corp December, 1917, featuring Marie with Raymond Cacho, Fred Hallen, Florence Hamilton and Harriet Ross:

This was the first time I could view a Dressler Goldwyn. It was much better than I expected in fact I enjoy her in this film more than I do in TILLIE's PUNCTURED ROMANCE.

According to the poster, it co-stars Chaplin and Normand. Uh-huh.

Although never exactly the loveliest of ladies, Dressler looks far too much like a man in drag in this exerpt. In fact, the chase-inside-the-factory scene shows her looking startlingly like John Cleese in several shots.

I liked the scene where the cops pile into their jalopy with guns drawn, and one of them drapes himself over the front fender. Pretty smart way to shield himself from any returning fire.
