Ben Model: Parallel betw. Cameraman and Singin' in the Rain

Postby Rob Farr » Tue Dec 12, 2017 12:08 pm

Ben Model recently noticed something familiar while accompanying Buster Keaton's The Cameraman. He suspected that the sequence in the rain in Keaton's film paralleled Kelly's famous scene in Singin' in the Rain. Here's his proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM38ZEddt3Y

I wonder if Snub Pollard's inclusion in the SITR scene was coincidental or part of the homage to the Keaton scene. Its likely the former as Snub would not be recognized by the people who still remembered him.
