If you look on the little bright side of this tragic period, through the digital media principles, no escaping, we're witnessing the speeding-up of a process of rejuvenation in many areas of the silent film's world. Many people could take advantage of the connectivity fueled by these new technologies and as I expected at the start of this pandemic, perhaps the 21st century truly begins now, for good or ill.
In such a case it sounds good to me. Culture for all -- not only for a select few.
We should not forget that this year marks the 50th anniversary of Harold Lloyd's passing, too. It looks like a good way to celebrate.
Interact with your favorite SCM authors, producers, directors, historians, archivists and silent comedy savants. Or just read along. Whatever.
