SOAPSUDS AND SIRENS - L-Ko 1917

Postby Thomas Reeder » Fri Nov 08, 2013 9:49 am

Can anyone identify the actress next to Harry Lorraine in this screen grab from L-Ko's SOAPSUDS AND SIRENS from 1917? She has a minor role as a character named Babee, with co-stars Walter Stephens, Bert Roach, and Gladys Varden. Merta Sterling's the only oversized actress I'm aware of working at L-Ko during this period, and from the stills I've seen of her this doesn't appear to be her. Any ideas?

Stephens, by the way, didn't strike me as having much talent, or at least not as a comedian.

Now that you mention it, no. Watching the film I never had the feeling that it was a man in drag, but that doesn't mean it wasn't.
