Hey, Bob Fells has been opening his mouth to spew come good nonsense over at the Nitratevile OUTTAKES, ALTERNATE VERSIONS, ABANDONED MOVIES thread.
He said the 1925 MGM film version of BEN HUR originally starred George O’ Brien (it was George Walsh actually), and that HALLELUJAH, I’M A BUM was completely shot, then scrapped and completely re-shot (not true, actually a decent deal of the footage Chester Erskin (or Erskine, as he billed himself later, in case we want to play more Bob Birchard party games) shot is in the film, to the point where he still makes an un-billed Directors Cameo in the building dedication scene where he appears in the same shot as the photographer that Rodgers and Hart does appearing as his assistants. Lewis Milestone reshot the scenes between Jolson and the Mayor, replacing Roland Young with Frank Morgan, and re-worked a lot of what Erskin had shot, but much of the first third of the movie, especially the Central park scenes, are Erskin’s work).

Hmm, it’s becoming a contest to see who has more errors, imdb or Nitratevile.
