I'M A CIVILIAN HERE MYSELF (1945), produced by the U.S. Navy shortly after V-J Day and starring Robert Benchley in his final short subject for use in Navy separation centers.

In her autobiography Eve Arden recalled her friend Benchley sending her a portrait of himself dressed as an Admiral for this film. She planned to have him sign it but his untimely death intervened first.

Benchley's MGM and Paramount shorts were all one reel in length. CIVILIAN was his first two-reeler since RKO's HOW TO BREAK NINETY AT CROQUET.

YouTube indicates that this short was posted 11 years ago but it's a good day whenever one can share a little Benchley.
