Another El Brendel home movie to be screened at Cinefest

Postby Louie Despres » Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:38 pm

Yeah, so I guess I'm going to toot my own horn here, but this coming March at Cinefest in Syracuse, NY, I will be presenting another home movie from the comedian everyone loves to hate, El Brendel! This one is made up of El mostly performing gags in front of the camera but there are also some behind the scenes footage on movie sets. Should be around 15-20 minutes running time. The first 4-5 minutes are in black and white but the remaining is all in glorious Kodachrome!

I ran a reel last year which was all "behind the scenes" footage from movies like "If I Had My Way", "Captain Caution", "I'm From Arkansas", "Machine Gun Mama" and featured El on the Columbia lot with scenes from "Blitz Kiss" and "Pistol Packin' Nitwits" (showing a very tired and old looking Harry Langdon in color!) and El even does a brief routine with Curly from the Three Stooges and clowns around with Jules White!

Here is a frame scan from the film being shown this year:
