Wilna Hervey, the amazonian actress who played Powerful Katrinka in the Toonerville Trolley and Plum Center comedies of the early 1920s, is now the subject of a full length biography that traces her work in the moves as well as her later years as an artist with her life companion, Nan Mason. Wilna's story turned out to be a large as she was and with more unexpected twists and turns that any of the movies she made. http://woodstockarts.com/living-large/

Welcome to the mafia Joe!

I look forward to reading this book, we watched a print of POP TUTTLES LOST CONTROL that I picked recently at our last Movie NIght and we were discussing Wilna, who made an appearance in the film.

Here is a brief video about Wilna Hervey and her life companion, Nan Mason. It contains some footage of Wilna in action as well as footage of her in old age, photos of her artwork, and a recording of her and Nan singing a love song to each other: https://vimeo.com/128319574
