Thanks, everyone, for the care and concern.

It is true -- Laughsmith Entertainment received not a single penny of royalties from that company. The entity which currently controls the Laughsmith name and product, however, is fully aware of everything that has been happening with the product.

I am so sorry that MMI is doing their best to such every stolen ounce of blood out of Laughsmith.
I bought both disc sets and would highly recomend them both. I am glad that I bought them years back when they were first out.

Having to do without these is sad, but knowingly buying them from theves and pirates?
I am glad that I didn't get them at this "super discount" given the fact that someone else is paying the difference.

Just my opinion,
Agnes

As the originator of this thread and a HUGE admirer of both Paul and his work, please know that I don't condone, in any way, MMI's treatment of Paul.

I kinda look at it this way: if the objectives of the Keaton and Arbuckle sets were to a) put money in Paul's pocket, and b) getting the work of Buster and Roscoe seen, at least the current activity achieves one objective. Reality is, Paul wouldn't see a dime if the sets were thrown in the ocean...and I don't think MMI will become millionaires at $4.98 and $7.98 respectively. And in an alternate universe where they were still available at full price with Paul getting his well-deserved share, that'd be my preferred purchase.

I can't speak for Paul so I can't say if this firesale hurts him or not, but he seems to be pretty pragmatic about the situation after all he's been through. But maybe this is picking at scabs, I dunno. But I've got so much to be grateful to Paul -- and everyone who's contributed to all his efforts -- that the last thing I'd want to do is anything that disrespects him.

S'all,
Chris

Many thanks for the very kind thoughts, Chris!

As to the remaindering of the Laughsmith product:

The Arbuckle and ISK sets were produced and manufactured in 2004 / 2005.

The new HD collections coming from CineMuseum far surpass the old
Laughsmith product in scope, content, quality and price.

The CineMuseum product is a better choice in every way.

Can't wait!

That's fantastic news Paul, thanks! Quick question...will there be overlapping of content from one set to another (ie: an upgraded HD transfer of THE HOMEOWNER), or will BLUE COLLAR BUSTER be 100% new material?
Enquiring minds want to know! :)

There will be some crossover but those titles are all upgrades, newly licensed,
rendering all previous versions obsolete. Lots of great new material there.
