Hey Paul! Can You Spill the Beans about the New Keaton Find?
Hey Paul! Can You Spill the Beans about the New Keaton Find?
The Keaton trove I'd like to see (hear) are the tape recordings that were probably made for My Wonderful World of Slapstick. In that day an "as told to" book usually involved the celebrity talking and talking into a tape recorder, either alone or in an interview format. The ghostwriter then had to flesh it all out in some kind of chronological order. My guess is that Keaton may have done this twice... once for Rudy Blesch and once for Charles Samuels. Has either of these surfaced?

Wish that I could, GodFarrther, but I have been sworn to secrecy!
I can tell you this much -- the find is an absolute jaw dropper. No one knew that this thing existed until recently and, from a historical perspective, it is one of the most important Keaton discoveries since the James Mason "garden shed" find.
I will comment further on the history of the item when Susan Buhrman and the Keaton society make their announcement.
