Rob, I guess that's how Charlie maintained a slim waistline as he put on a few pounds -- keep raising the belt. Note that the sounds coming out of Charlie when he's bombarded by fireworks is the same yell he makes at the end of BUSY BODIES. I'm surprised that bit didn't become his stock-in-trade, a counterpart to Fin's "D'oh!"

I'm always enamored with any short made in the '40's that shows any modicum of budget outside of a studio set.
Here Edgar gets to film at an outdoor park filled with explosive sight gags. Bravo!
