Re: Chico Marx plays "Waltzing Matilda" (1948)

I have the Marx Brothers LP (and the W.C. Fields & Mae West albums). I've used all of them for my radio show. Took me many years to find copies of the Marx & Fields albums with the poster included (still looking for a copy of the West LP with the poster). Don't have the Karloff & Friends...

Re: Coming in November.........

Wow! Thank you so much Richard for the update, and thanks to you and everyone involved.

I'm super excited about this release (and it's coming out several days after my birthday; I've pre-ordered it as a present for myself).

This made my day!

Re: THREE AGES Cohen Media Restoration - Amazon Review

Many thanks Ed for confirming that the Eureka and Cohen discs use the same transfers. I bought a huge Keaton set from Kino several years ago that was on sale. The transfers, etc. varied quite a bit but were generally good. I agree with you the 2019 disc of Our Hospitality didn't seem like a huge upg...

Re: Gierucki on the radio!

Thank you for your kind words Ed! The show can be heard at the link below. Although my radio show is primarily a music show, there are several episodes with movie historians, too. Frank Thompson was interviewed live in the studio on October 7, and there are episodes with Richard Roberts and Randy Sk...

Re: THREE AGES Cohen Media Restoration - Amazon Review

Thank you, Ed (way belatedly) for this detailed review and comparison of the various Blu-Rays of Three Ages. (I've the 2010 disc, and will look for the 2017 edition). Ed, are the Eureka discs the same transfers as the Cohen Blu-Rays, or different editions all together? I keep seeing them online. Den...

Gierucki on the radio!

Hi Everyone, I will be interviewing fellow Mafiosi Paul Gierucki tomorrow (by phone) on my radio show. Adventures in Sound will air live from 1 to 2 p.m. (CST) on KOOP Radio (koop.org and 91.7 FM in the Austin area). We'll talk about Arbuckle, Keaton, Sennett, and more comedy greats. The show will b...

Re: CHARLEY CHASE AT HAL ROACH THE TALKIES: VOLUME FOUR 1929 now available

Like Rob, I also posted an Amazon review (and mine also hasn't show up yet). It's also five stars. Ed, thank you for the neat video; it was cute and charming. Needless to say, this set belongs in every vintage comedy fan's collection! I've watched each short several times (with and without Richard's...

Re: HOT SPORTS (1929) Monty Collins, Vernon Dent

Thank you Richard for posting the link to this short (and for Dave Glass for putting it online). I've known about this title for decades, but this is the first time I've seen it. It's very funny, with Monty, Vernon, and director Jules White all in good form. (And Vernon appeared in over 20 released ...
