Re: Nitrateville Answer Dept: Identify these Stills: Golf Edition
Gad, you give them a whole day and the NNN's can't come up with damn much of anything these days. The still with James Dunn playing ping-pong, that's Lona Andre on the left and I think that's June Knight on the right, which would make this still from TAKE A CHANCE (1933), but most likely a publicity...

Re: discovered Langdons
You know it is kinda a laugh that the nits over at Nitwitvile didn't get the news on this until just today: https://www.nitrateville.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37956 And of course it is a big mystery as to whose Youtube channel posted these films, which we of course already know is formerly of the ...

CLASSIC IMAGES is closing its doors
Hey Gang, More wonderful news as CLASSIC IMAGES magazine has sent out a letter saying that its October 2025 issue will be it's last and they are closing up shop effective immediately. This is, of course, an end of an era for a magazine that loomed large in many film collectors lives. Started in 1962...

TWENTY MINUTES AT THE FAIR (1916) Billie Ritchie
Billie Ritchie runs around the Pan-Pacific Exposition (later Balboa Park) in San Diego, oddly enough staying away from the Keystone exhibit on how movies are made, in this rather off-the-cuff L-KO comedy from 1916:

WHY SAILORS GO WRONG (1928) Sammy Cohen, Ted McNamara
A late Henry Lehrman-directed Fox comedy feature featuring the short-lived comedy team of Sammy Cohen and Ted McNamara (who died soon after making this film) as well as Nick Stuart and Sally Phipps. Lehrman gets a couple of lovely tasteless gags by the censors and this is more fun than it outta be. ...

IN CONFERENCE (1931) Harry Gribbon, Andy Clyde
Here's that rarity, a funny Mack Sennett talkie. Basically a sequel to A HOLLYWOOD STAR, we have more adventures with Harry Gribbon as a problematic movie actor:

Re: WHOSE BABY (1917) Gloria Swanson, Bobby Vernon
No Ed, it was Charlie Tarbox's Film Classics Exchange that had the second reel only (all that is known to exist) available in a beautiful print reduced from 35mm (I've got one). It does have a pretty wild storm sequence for it's finale.
