Re: SHOULDER ARMS restoration
I have researched Feiner and an interesting fellow was he. Feiner convinced a judge that the Laurel and Hardy stills were not posed photos, but frame grabs of actual films he owned the rights to. Until the 1970's film stills were never copyrighted. This masterstroke allowed him to make a living suin...

Re: KALTON LAHUE'S SILENT LEGACY: A REUNION WITH SAM GILL AND FAMILY
I have been reading Mr. Lahue's books for over 40 years and this is the first time I have seen his face. I copied in their entirety three of Lahue's books on public library Xerox machines at a dime a page. In the early 1990's my local library had computer access to all books available by inter-libra...

Re: Weiss Bros Title Inquiry
Snub is not in this. I seem to remember someone telling me years ago that this short was made while Snub was in New York making those two talkie shorts. I thought I had a clip but damn if I can find it now. Joe is dressed as a swell and Marvin is wearing a bathrobe.

Publishers Central Bureau: there's a name I haven't heard in a while. They were another money magnet in my youth. I still have the Fields double album, Groucho at Carnegie, and a couple of the George Garrabedian L&H albums, and many books.

Re: Need info on "Help Yourself" (1927) NOW WITH PICTURES
Louie, Over the years I had not known any of Murray's Hodginson comedies to exist. That doesn't mean they all didn't I just hadn't heard of any. Last year, I think, THE PILL POUNDER turned up (the owner of the 16mm print was afeard the the print might "blow up" being projected). Bow was in...

Re: Need info on "Help Yourself" (1927) NOW WITH PICTURES
Louie, If the short of LIFE OF REILLY is the Hodginson short, not the later feature, there is a chance Clara Bow is in it. If that is the case you will be beloved by the silent film intelligentsia. Congratulations Louie. To seek for years an obscure, lost comedy short, and to finally find it is not ...

Re: Moe Howard in MR. BOLTER’S INFATUATION?
I could never understand why Moe, who had a documented busy and sufficient career, would resume enhance. Bunny hit his stride in 1913 when Moe was 16. A bit old to play juvenile parts, but Moe might have pulled them off with his short stature. Moe also claimed to have appeared in the Honus Wagner sh...
