Educational Television Syndication Inquiry.

Postby Tommie Hicks » Sat Jul 30, 2022 10:38 pm

I have recently seen an ad for a TV syndication package of Educational talkie shorts. It was called the CARNIVAL COMEDY PACKAGE and it was syndicated by Tele-Features, Inc. Since the Educational negatives were torched in 1937, where did Tele-Features, Inc. get their pre-print for the 16mm reduction negatives?

Not everything went up in the Little Ferry Fire, partially because not everything was housed there. Maurice Zoary's master materials came from a variety of sources: prints, fine grains, lavenders and some negatives that survived. That's why the Zoary materials are all over the place in terms of quality, but actually look better than one might think. You can see that from what has gone up on Youtube, those are from the Zoary materials at LOC.
