Patrick Vasey has a Kickstarter going for his new book LAUREL AND HARDY: SILENTS.
It's a stunning two-volume set, presented in a beautiful centenary slipcase, celebrating Stan and Babe's silent era.
Alongside a detailed history of Laurel and Hardy's career together and the development of the Hal Roach Studios throughout the 1920s, the books also feature every available production still they've been able to uncover—many of them never published before. They've been fortunate to receive contributions from collectors and film historians around the world, making this a genuine collaborative effort by the Laurel and Hardy community.
The books are being produced as a high-end, limited edition that will never be reprinted in this format. Because of the scale and quality of the project, production and shipping costs are significant, so the print run is being capped at a maximum of 1,000 sets. The Kickstarter campaign closes at the end of the month, and this gives as many fans as possible the opportunity to secure a copy before they're gone.
