Nitrateville Question: Bert Wheeler, Leon Errol, Raymond Walburn photo

“Yancey Cravat” at Nitrateville asked for information behind this photo, featuring Bert Wheeler, Leon Errol, Raymond Walburn, and a pigeon.
Well sir (or madame), as you can see by the newspaper clipping I’ve located, it was taken at the Lakeside Country Club in October 1937 as part of a publicity series that was eventually published in the Los Angeles Times on November 10th of that year.
Perhaps the photo autographed by the three comedians was displayed at one time in Lakeside’s dining room...who knows?
