For better or worse, Abbott & Costello’s work regularly borrowed a lot of things from Wheeler & Woolsey. That later team never appeared in a film where they portrayed Roman centurions. I’ve wondered if this publicity photo of Bud and Lou was concocted because someone saw a photo from OH! OH! CLEOPATRA?

Bud & Lou might've made a funny movie set in ancient Rome. Imagine Bud encountering Charles Laughton as Claudius, the two of them doing the moving candle routine.
