For better or worse, Abbott & Costello’s work regularly borrowed a lot of things from Wheeler & Woolsey. That later team never appeared in a film where they portrayed Roman centurions. I’ve wondered if this publicity photo of Bud and Lou was concocted because someone saw a photo from OH! OH! CLEOPATRA?

That's a still from the cancelled in pre-production Universal picture ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET SPARTACUS.
