Harold Lloyd and a monkey smoke
Does anyone know what short this clip comes from. I was going through some of my Harold Lloyd 9.5mm clips and one is called Harold Lloyd's Cigarette and is basically a short little skit with Lloyd as glasses character lighting a cig , and then a monkey grabs it and smokes it...

Is it THE KID BROTHER, with Josephine the monkey (the monkey from the medicine show act that Harold ends up putting boots on so Constantine Romanoff thinks there's another person on the top deck of the ship)?

A man lights a cigarette. A monkey grabs it and smokes it. The end. THIS is why we say today's comedy can't even begin to approach the silent era's! :-)

Hi Chris
I've seen that 9.5mm clip of Harold and the monkey, and there's another 9.5mm clip that exists that starts where that one leaves off that has a homely native man showing up and he, Harold, and the monkey start betting. A while ago I found a picture of Harold and the monkey in a 1919 Moving Picture World (I'm not at home home so I can't check the exact date) that identified the film as THE RAJAH ('19). The monkey is supposed to be Snooky right before his/her series for Chester.

Note the actual spelling on the film's title card:
"Harold Lloyd's Gigarette".
